All hand written passports must be renewed to Machine Readable Passports (MRP) by 24 November 2015. If the applicant possesses a hand written passport, he/she can apply for an MRP any time before the expiry date.

(P1) Renewal of Expiring Passport (processing time 1-2 months):
- Fill two copies of the application form after downloading them, print them, and put your signature and thumb print on them
- Valid Passport & its photocopy
- Original Citizenship Certificate and its photocopy
- Total 4 Passport size photographs (borderless, white background, color, size 35mm x 45mm with 70-80% face and 20-30% body to be seen)
- If applying in person at the embassy, please bring cash of 92.00 (Ninety Two) dollars for passport fee.

(P2) Replacement of Damaged, Torn or Lost Passport:
- Fill two copies of the application form online, print them, and put your signature and thumb print on them
- Application of details of loss, damage, or torn
- Photocopy of lost Passport
- Police report with PP No. and Name (mandatory for lost Passport)
- Original Nepalese citizenship certificate & its photocopy
- Total 4 Passport size photographs (borderless, white background, color, size 35mm x 45mm with 70-80% face and 20-30% body to be seen)
- If applying in person at the embassy, please bring cash of 184.00 (one hundred and Eighty Four) dollars for passport fee

(P3) Passport for Minor/Infant (below 10 years):
- Fill two copies of the application form online, print them
- Total 4 Passport size photographs (borderless, white background, color, size 35mm x 45mm with 70- 80% face and 20-30% body to be seen)
- An application specifying of its need from parents
- A photocopy of birth registration certificates having parents’ name mentioned in it. If other than in Nepali and English language, provide us both original and its English translation.
- Valid passport and its photocopy of father of the child
- Original Citizenship Certificate and its photocopy of father of the child
- If someone has turned 16 years old and needs to renew his/her passport, he/she will get a passport with only two years validity, and within this two years, he/she must obtain Nepali Citizenship Certificate to get new passport of 10 years validity.
- If applying in person at the embassy, please bring cash of 46.00 (Forty Six) USD for children under 10 years old for passport fee.
- Children under 10 years will get passport with only 5 years validity.

(P4) Temporary Passport (Processing time: 3 Days):
- Requirements are same as that for (P1)
- Temporary Passport is only issued to the applicant whose MRP is under processing to be issued
- Fees: 50.00 (Fifty) dollars
- The validity of Temporary Passport will remain six months.
(P5) TRAVEL DOCUMENT (Processing time: 3 Days):
- Requirements are same as that for (P1)
- Travel itinerary
- Fees: 50.00 (Fifty) dollars
Important Information:
- Once the Passport/ Temporary Passport/ Travel Document are issued, the fees will not be refunded.
- Payment must be made in cash. Currencies other than USD will not be accepted.
- Nepalese citizens having birth place other than in Nepal and have attended the age of 16 must submit citizenship certificate for new passport.
- Original passport is required at the time of collection of renewed passport (via post or in person) so that we can cancel the original one.
- For the correct size of forms please select ‘Actual size’ on print properties before printing.
